Talofa. :o) I know that word from Samoan, and from the well known Hawaiian "'aloha". But I didn't know that it is that widespread over the Oceanic subgroup... Saludos cordiales, --Thogo 19:30, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
We (means the Nauruan Wikipedia community) aren't even sure talofa is correct Nauruan too. Somebody introduced it as being welcome in Nauruan too, but others doubt about it, including myself. Samoan is a Central Pacific language, Nauruan a Micronesian one, there are 45 Central Pacific languages and 20 Micronesian (both groups being direct subgroups of the 199 Remote Oceanic languages). So Samoan and Nauruan are not thát related... S.V.E.T. aka Belgian man 18:45, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
